Custom Gutter-Protection Bracket for Fire Department Training

For this project, we partnered with a local fire department to design and fabricate a custom bracket system that protects residential gutters during ladder-training exercises. Traditional ladder placement can easily crush or bend gutters, causing damage during repeated drills. The department needed a durable, easy-to-use solution that would allow firefighters to train realistically without risking property damage.

We developed a heavy-duty steel bracket that hooks securely over the gutter and distributes the ladder’s weight onto the structure behind it rather than the gutter itself. The design features a contoured support surface to match standard gutter profiles, reinforced bracing for repeated impact and load, and smooth edges to prevent scratching or deforming metal gutters.

Each bracket was precision-cut, fully welded, and finished with a weather-resistant coating to withstand outdoor use and frequent handling. The final product provides a reliable training aid that protects homes while allowing firefighters to practice essential skills safely and effectively.
